Terms
Last updated 23 October 2026
In short: Closetboard is for adults who want more from the clothes they have. Your closet is yours. Be kind in Circle: there’s no place here for bullying, hate, sexual content or spam, and we act on every report within 24 hours. Outfit ideas, colour analysis and the AI are suggestions, not promises. Plus is an App Store subscription you can cancel any time. Stylists are independent businesses, and a booking is between you and them. Your rights under UK consumer law are never affected.
Using Closetboard
These terms are between you and Closetboard (“we”, “us”), for the Closetboard app, its website at closetboard.app and its share links. By making an account or using Closetboard, you agree to them and to our privacy policy.
- You must be 18 or over.
- One account each, kept to yourself. You sign in with an email code, Apple or Google; keep those safe, and tell us if someone else gets into your account.
- Use it lawfully, and don’t try to break it, overload it, copy it in bulk, or reach what isn’t yours (another person’s account, chats or closet).
Your closet, and what you share
The photos, pieces, outfits and words you add are yours, and stay on your phone and in your own Google Drive. When you share something (an outfit in a chat, a post in Everyone, a share link, your closet with your stylist), you let us store it and show it to the people you shared it with, only to run Closetboard, for as long as it’s shared. Only add photos you took or have the right to use, and don’t share pictures of other people without their say-so.
Community rules
Circle is for friends helping each other get dressed: chats, groups, fit checks and Everyone. To keep it that way, there is no tolerance for:
- Bullying or harassment: mocking someone’s body, looks or clothes, threats, or keeping on at someone who doesn’t want it.
- Hate: slurs, or attacking anyone for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- Sexual content or nudity, and anything at all sexualising children.
- Violence, self-harm or anything illegal, including encouraging it.
- Spam, scams and selling that nobody asked for, and pretending to be someone you aren’t.
- Other people’s private details, or their photos without their say-so.
Slurs are turned away before they’re sent, anywhere; so are swearing and sexual words in names, usernames and Everyone. For everything else:
- Report it. Tap ••• in a chat, beside someone in a group or on a post in Everyone, or × on a friend request. Reports go to Closetboard’s team, never to the person reported. From a chat, what they sent you lately goes with it, so we can see for ourselves.
- Block them. They leave your circle, can’t find you, ask to join it or message you, and neither of you sees the other’s outfits in Everyone or messages in groups you share. They aren’t told. Undo it in Circle › your profile › Blocked.
- What we do. We look at every report within 24 hours. Content that breaks the rules is removed, and the account that posted it can be suspended or closed, at once and without warning for anything serious. A post in Everyone that several people report is hidden straight away until we’ve looked. Where someone may be in danger, or the law asks us to, we may tell the police.
Think something was taken down by mistake? Write to hello@closetboard.app and we’ll look again.
Outfit ideas, colours and AI
Closetboard suggests outfits, checks proportions, reads your colouring and answers questions with AI (Google’s Gemini). These are ideas to help you choose, not professional advice, and they can be wrong: AI can misread a photo or say something that isn’t true. Colour analysis is a guide, measured from your phone’s screen and camera in the light you’re in. Check sizes, prices and details with the shop before you buy.
Shops, links and sponsored pieces
Shops you open from Closetboard are other businesses, with their own terms; what you buy, you buy from them. Prices, stock and delivery are theirs and can change. Some links earn us a commission, which never changes your price. Sponsored pieces are always labelled Sponsored, with the brand’s name.
Closetboard Plus, and other purchases
- Plus is a subscription through Apple’s App Store, monthly or yearly, with the price shown before you buy. It may start with a free week. It renews automatically until you cancel it, at least a day before it renews, in your iPhone’s Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. Apple takes the payment and handles refunds under its own rules.
- One-off purchases in the app (Your colours, say) are through Apple too, and stay yours on the same Apple account; Restore brings them back on a new phone.
- Allowances. Free accounts have monthly allowances (Get the look scans, AI chats); an ad you choose to watch can add a little more. We may change what’s included, telling you first where it affects something you’ve paid for.
Personal stylists and bookings
- Stylists are independent businesses, not employed by Closetboard. We check who applies, but a stylist’s advice and services are theirs, and so is the responsibility for them.
- A booking is an agreement between you and the stylist, on the price, time and cancellation rules shown when you book. Card payments go through Stripe; Closetboard keeps a small share and the card costs, shown to the stylist before they take payments. Refunds follow the stylist’s cancellation rules, and some are made automatically when a session is cancelled in good time.
- If you work as a stylist, you agree to describe yourself and your services truthfully, keep your clients’ closets and details private and use them only to style them, keep to the community rules with your clients, and handle your own taxes and insurance. Stylist plans renew monthly until cancelled, and a workspace that isn’t paid for pauses (your clients and work are kept).
If you got Closetboard from the App Store
These terms are between you and Closetboard, not Apple, and Apple isn’t responsible for Closetboard or its content. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies too; where it and these terms differ about the app itself, Apple’s wins. Apple and its subsidiaries can rely on these terms as third-party beneficiaries.
What we can and can’t promise
We work hard to keep Closetboard running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of mistakes, and features may change. We aren’t responsible for losses we couldn’t reasonably have foreseen, or for what shops, stylists and other people do. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn’t allow it to be limited (for death or injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud), or takes away your rights as a consumer.
Ending
You can stop whenever you like, and delete your account in Settings; that deletes everything we keep with it (see the privacy policy). We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, telling you why unless the law or someone’s safety stops us. Cancelling Closetboard doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription: do that in your Apple account.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it applies. The date at the top says when they last changed.
The law
These terms are under the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your own courts.
